HabitNest Privacy Policy

HabitNest is designed as a local-first companion. Core features do not create an account, do not call an application server, and do not upload your rituals, habits, mood logs, or journal notes.

What lives on the device

All of your content is stored in encrypted Hive boxes. The encryption key is created on first launch and stored in the Android Keystore or iOS Keychain via flutter_secure_storage.

What we never collect

  • No name, email, contacts, precise location, photos, or advertising identifier
  • There is no crash reporter
  • There is no product analytics SDK
  • There are no ads in this build

Notifications

Notification permission is requested only when you enable a reminder. Reminders are scheduled locally and are inexact, so the app does not need exact-alarm privileges.

Export and import

You can export an AES-256-GCM backup locked with a passphrase you choose. HabitNest cannot recover a forgotten passphrase. Import replaces local data after a successful decrypt.

Deleting data

Uninstalling the app removes local databases. The Keystore key is also discarded with the app data. There is no remote copy to delete.
